(BROWNSTOWN) - A former Jackson County man convicted in late June of failing to pay more than $37,000 in child support received a five-year prison sentence Tuesday morning in Jackson Circuit Court.
Eric D. Lewis, 41, who now lives in Fishers, was sentenced by Senior Judge Bill Vance, gave Lewis 197 days credit for the time he has spent in jail since his arrest in early February.
Vance says Lewis' failure to pay child support or to work during many of the years since his divorce from Kimberly Dawn Bartrom Lewis Hobson in 1998 only proves he has no intention of paying it.
