Man Injured After Vehicle Hits His Motorcycle

(BEDFORD) - 66-year-old Michael Davis, of Bedford, suffered severe bleeding to his head and was treated at the scene of a traffic accident late Friday afternoon.

According to a Bedford Police report, Davis was at the intersection of Plaza Drive and 16th Street when his 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle was hit in the intersection.

According to police Davis was attempting to turn onto 16th Street.

As the light turned yellow, 43-year-old Julia Phillips, of Bedford had stopped her 2000 Ford Van in the middle of the intersection.

Davis told police that the light was probably red by the time he was able to clear the intersection, according to the report.

Davis told police as he made the turn Phillips came through the intersection and crashed into him.

After being treated at the scene, Davis was taken to Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital. He was not wearing a helmet. Phillips was not injured, according to the report.
