Man Dies After Suffering Chest Pains While Tubing At Patoka

(PATOKA) - Indiana Conservation Officers are conducting a death investigation at Patroka Lake.

According to Indiana Conservation officer Jim Schreck, 47-year-old Roberto Abaiger, of Indianapolis was pronounced dead at Bloomington Hospital Orange County.

Shortly after 5 p.m. officers and Orange County EMS personnel were called to the lake after a report of an unresponsive male.

Crews provided CPR and were unsuccessful in reviving Abaiger.

Schreck says, Abaiger was being towed on an inflatable tube behind a boat when he began having chest pain. Shortly after re-boarding the boat, he became unresponsive and was transported to shore.

Abaiger was wearing a lifejacket at the time of the incident

An autopsy is scheduled, and official cause of death is pending.
