Man Arrested After Crashing Into Woman's Car

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was injured after a drunk driver crashed into her vehicle early Saturday morning.

According to a report at the Lawrence County Police Department, Rebecca Chase was driving west on Ind. 158 near Lavender Lane in a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix at 12:15 a.m..

At the same time, 40-year-old Jason Sowder, of 653 Johnson Lane, was traveling east on the same road.

Sowders' vehicle crossed the center line and collided with Chase's car.

Sowders was given a breath test for alcohol which he failed with a blood-alcohol content of 0.09 percent

Sowders was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, causing serious bodily injury.

Chase was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel from Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.
