(SEYMOUR) - A man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Thursday on I-65 near Seymour.

According to Indiana State Police Master Trooper Jason Duncan, 67-year-old Leon Moore, of Fountain City, IN, was driving his motorcycle southbound near the 55 mile marker when witnesses said they saw Moore swerve to avoid crashing into a dog crossing the interstate. Moore then lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected around 12:30 p.m.

Moore suffered serious facial and head injuries as a result of the crash. A witness to the crash, who was driving a tour bus when the crash happened in front of him, pulled the bus to the center of the road bringing traffic to a stop which may have prevented Moore from being hit by other drivers.

Additionally, a Harrison County EMS ambulance was going back to Harrison County following a training session in the Indianapolis area and arrived on scene shortly after the crash and was treating Moore when Jackson County EMS arrived. He was flown from the scene to St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis. His condition is not known at this time.

Moore had a helmet on his motorcycle, but was not wearing in when the crash took place. The interstate was close for 90 minutes as troopers investigated the crash and cleared the scene. Traffic didn't get back to normal until after 3 p.m.
