(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County police officers made extra patrols around the courthouse Wednesday after they received a call reporting a man was going to go to the courthouse and shoot himself.
"The man was upset and said he was going there to shoot himself," Sheiff Sam Craig says. "We had his name and info and were taking every percaution to protect him and others."
Craig says officers had the name and discription of the man.
"He later called and apologized," Craig says. "Officers checked on him to make sure he was okay and got any help he needed to make sure he would not do anything to harm himself."
