Hillcrest Christian Church To Host American Heritage Girls Meeting

Last updated on Tuesday, August 6, 2013

(BEDFORD) - Families can learn about American Heritage Girls on Thursday at Hillcrest Christian Church.

AHG is a faith-based character development program for girls kindergarten through age 18. It is dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country.

Hillcrest Christian Church will be hosting the informational meeting for parents and their daughters at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Founded in 1995 in Cincinnati, AHG is a scout-type experience and has grown from 10 troops and 100 members to more than 22,000 members across four countries and in 48 U.S. states.

With an emphasis on faith, service and fun, girls choose from more than 240 badges, participate in service projects, leadership opportunities and outdoor experiences.

AHG is endorsed by Dr. James Dobson, child psychologist, author and founder of Focus on the Family.

In his book, "Bringing Up Girls," Dobson recommended American Heritage Girls to parents who want their daughters involved in a traditional Christian-based program that will reinforce what they are trying to teach at home.

To learn more about the program visit www.ahgonline.org or visit YouTube AHGchannel to watch a two-minute animated movie.
