Last updated on Friday, August 9, 2013

(MITCHELL) - Forever Gold is back by popular demand.

When Forever Gold strides on stage Saturday, Aug. 17 at Mitchell High School Auditorium, the eclectic ensemble will feature saxophonist Hank Wintczak, band director at MHS.

Forever Gold first debuted in 2006 as an offshoot of the Little Theatre of Bedford's production of "Good Vibrations." Dave Morthland, the band's manager, said the group usually performs about four times per year, highlighting hit tunes ranging from the 1950s-1980s.

Forever Gold's vocalists are Chuck Jones, Debbie and Paul Patton, Shawna Girgis, and Scotty Phillips. They are accompanied by Ray "Boomer" Christie on bass, Dennis Grogan on drums, Steve Kimbley on keyboards, Dan Benbow on lead guitar, and guitarist Jim Stevens, who also serves as band leader.

Morthland said Forever Gold's new show features a dozen new popular tunes.

The concert starts at 7 p.m., with doors to open at 6 p.m. Tickets, priced at $12, are available at Sipes Body Shop or by calling Becky Sipes at 583-8027.
