(SEYMOUR) - A new synthetic drug, N-Bomb or 251 or "Smiles" recently surfaced in Seymour, resulting in two overdoses involving teenagers

A third case of the drug's use was discovered last week when a Cottage Circle couple found a prowler in their garage and held him at gunpoint until police arrived.

24-year-old Cody Bearden, of Seymour, was arrested and charged with burglary. He later was charged with dealing in a controlled substance - N-Bomb.

According to police and physicians, a drug marketed as an alternative to LSD could be among the most powerful and potentially deadly of the synthetic drugs that have inundated the market in recent years, and there is no reliable way to know what the drug is made of or how the body will react.

Some symptoms of the new hallucinogenic drug include teenager's seeing bright lights, an altered perception of sound and light, uncontrolled body movements, in addition to difficulty breathing. Anyone with information about this powerful new drug is asked to contact police, callers can remain anonymous
