Nick Schneider of the Greene County Daily World reports, 37-year old Jeremy Brandon Swango was arrested Wednesday after a warrant was issued charging hime with dealing in meth, attempted bribery, possession of meth and neglect of a dependent.

Greene County Sheriff's Department Detectives George Dallaire and James O'Malley say Swango's 15-year-old son was asleep in a bedroom that adjoins the kitchen when the early morning explosion took place.

He was not injured.

Swango managed to put out the fire that resulted from the explosion himself, but he did suffer some burns and was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment of what the detective called "non-life threatening' injuries.

Police received a tip Monday about the meth lab explosion at Swango's home at 123 North Cold Springs Road - not far from State Road 54 on the eastside of Bloomfield.

Dallaire and O'Malley went to the home and interviewed Swango and some others.

Police were able to gather enought information to obtain a search warrant and found the meth lab and that an explosion had occured in the kitchen.

Swango had burns he had treated himself, but police took him to the hospital for treatment.

Police found a one-pot meth lab and multiple precursors and the Indiana State Police Meth Suppression team was called to collect evidence.
