Last updated on Thursday, August 8, 2013

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after police responded to a domestic fight not once but twice.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to a home at 16th and P streets the first time at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday. As police were pulling up to the apartment building they witnessed 19-year-old Conner Morgan break out a window.

According to Parsley, Morgan was being disruptive to neighbors by yelling and screaming and throwing things around.

"This is not the first time officers have been called to the apartment to deal with Mr. Morgan."

No one else was at the apartment with Morgan at that time.

Officers got Morgan to finally calm down and cited him into court on a charged of disorderly conduct.

Police were called to the apartment a second time at 4:27 p.m.

"This time Mr. Morgan was taken to jail," Parsley says.

When police arrived they found a woman who claimed Morgan had choked her, pushed her to the ground and would not let her up. The woman began screaming for help and neighbors called police.

"The woman had thought that Mr. Morgan had left the apartment and returned there not expecting him to be there," Parsley says. "She had swelling to her wrist, bruises and scratches on her neck and complained of pain."

Witnesses confirmed there was an struggle and screaming and yelling before police and and that the woman had screamed for help and for someone to get Morgan off of her.

Morgan was charged with domestic battery, strangulation, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
