(BEAN BLOSSOM) - The Bean Blossom Blues Fest starts 9 a.m. Thursday and ends Saturday night at the Bill Monroe Music Park in Brown County.
The three-day event in the woods of Brown County features campfire jams that anyone can join. The festival includes performances by various blues bands and harmonica players.
There will be three music seminars offered during the festival.
At 2 p.m. Friday, Bruce Spratling will offer a seminar on how to play the spoons. At 10 a.m. Saturday, there will be a blues guitar seminar. Also at 10 a.m., there is a beginning harmonica seminar by John Hall.
The festival's first event is a party and jam with Gary Applegate at the Beer Pavilion. The event is free
Music on Friday starts at 5:30 p.m. with a performance of the National Anthem by Victoria and Vivien Armstrong. That is followed up with performances by Carson Diersing at 5:35 p.m. Noah Wotherspoon takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. The final act of the night is Doug Deming and Dennis Bruenling, who will take the stage at 9:30 p.m.
At noon Saturday, the festival's performances start up again with the Harmonica Masters & Pros Saturday Showcase on the Hippy Hill Stage. On the same stage at 3 p.m., see the harmonica contest. On the main stage at 2 p.m., see the Cabin 12 All-Star Jammers followed by Harsch Reality at 3:30 p.m. At 5:30 p.m., Southern Hospitality takes the stage. A Stevie Ray Vaughan Tribute featuring Gene Deer and Gordon Bonham hits the main stage at 7:30 p.m. The final act is Eddy "The Chief" Clearwater who takes the stage at 9:30 p.m.
There will also be beer and wine tastings, an outdoor cook-off, a free potluck, and art and jewelry vendors.
Festival attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
Tickets for the entire festival are $45 at the gate. Tickets are $20 for Friday and $25 for Saturday.
