(BLOOMINGTON) - The prow of the USS Indiana arrived last week in Bloomington and is being refurbished before going on display at Indiana University's Memorial Stadium.
WFIU reports, there, it will be reunited with its counterparts - two guns and a masthead from the same ship.
Assistant Vice President at IU for Engagement and Military Liaison Kirk White says, the prow will be rededicated on Sept. 7 before IU's game against the Navy Midshipmen.
Petty Officer Rebecca Cobb-Brown says having such a historic artifact in Indiana will be an educational experience and hopes it will drums up interest in the US Navy and the role it played in shaping America.
