Rush Creek Road Closed In Salem For Installation Of Water Line

(SALEM) - Rush Creek Road south of State Road 60 to Bee Line Road in Salem will be closed as workers install a waterline to the new airport.

Highway Superintendent Jerald Shanks says residents will have access to their homes, but no through traffic will be allowed. The road will be closed for about two weeks.

Dirt from the excavation for the line, being installed along county right-of-way, is to be piled on the road.

Both Cox Ferry and Cauble roads are also closed to traffic as workers with the county highway department replace bridges.

The project should be completed before school starts The first day of school for Salem Community Schools is Monday, Aug. 5. East Washington and West Washington begin Friday, Aug. 2.
