Rep. Todd Young Helped Unveil 'Make Government Work' Legislaive Package

Last updated on Friday, July 19, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - At a press conference Thursday with over 70 other members of Congress - a group both Republicans and Democrats from the House and Senate associated with No Labels and known as the Problem Solvers coalition - Rep. Todd Young (R-IN9) helped unveil a bipartisan legislative package called Make Government Work!

"When voters sent back a Republican House and a Democrat Senate last November, I saw that as a clear mandate to work together, wherever possible, to develop practical solutions to pressing challenges," Young said at the event. "I'm a Problem Solver because I want to fulfill that mandate from the American people."

The Problem Solvers coalition was formed at the beginning of this Congress with a focus on finding common ground between Republicans and Democrats. The coalition developed the No Budget, No Pay legislation that was adopted by both the House and Senate earlier this year, and led to the passage of the first budget in the Senate in four years. Young has been a member of the group since late January.

Make Government Work! is a package of nine bills that were developed and introduced in bipartisan fashion. Most aim at rooting out waste, making the government run more efficiently and providing better service to Americans. More information on can be found at http://www.nolabels.org/make-government-work.
