(UNDATED) - Jackson County Water Utility, Inc. has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for a number of customers in the western and southwestern portion of Jackson County and the northeastern portion of Lawrence County.

The affected areas include Clearspring, Norman, Sparksville and the rural area around Medora. The advisory is in effect due to a water main break Tuesday morning.

Customers should boil all cooking and drinking water for at least five minutes prior to consumption.

The advisory is in effect until at least Friday morning. Thorough testing will need to be done before the advisory is canceled.
