Parks Department Host Summer Fun Despite The Heat

(BEDFORD) - The heat has not hampered activities at the Bedford Parks Department.

Recreation Director Gary Dorsett says a trip is planned to Victory Field in Indianapolis July 31 to watch the Indians take on Scranton/Wilkes Barre RailRiders and there is still seats available. The cost to attend is $25 and includes transportation and a ticket to the event.

The annual All-Nighter softball tourney that was rained out is slated for August 2-4 at Murray Forest Park.

The Larry Corps Scholarship Men and Women's tournament is slated for August 17 at Murray. The entry fee is $150 and teams must register by Aug. 14 at 4 p.m. For more information, call the parks office at 275-5692 or Shane Corps at 583-3470.

And don't forget to get your tickets to the Fourth Annual Rock-A-Hula Luau August 2 at Lowery Pool. Tickets are available at the Parks Department and must be picked up by today.

Aaron Harrell, course manager at Otis Park, says the Senior City and Junior City golf event is slated for this weekend and invites everyone to come out and watch.
