Man Arrested After Pulling Girlfriend Out Of Vehicle By Her Head

(BEDFORD) - 25-year-old Kody Brinkman, of Bedford was arrested Monday afternoon after he pulled his girlfriend out of his vehicle by her head in the 400 block of M Street.

According to Police Chief Dennis Parsley the woman suffered abrasions to the left side of her head, head pain, abrasions to her right elbow and knee, chest and right shoulder.

Police responded to the area at 5:36 p.m. after receiving a call that a woman had been thrown from a moving vehicle.

When officers arrived the found the woman and she told police that Brinkman and her had been in his vehicle and arguing.

"They were in the process of parting ways because he had other interests," says Parsley. "The two were arguing and he had threatened to push her out of the vehicle while it was moving. He stopped the vehicle between Fourth and Fifth Street, went to the passenger side opened the door and pulled her out of the vehicle by her head. The woman landed on the pavement head first."

The woman refused medical treatment at the scene.

Parsley says officers took statements from witnesses who saw the incident and the woman signed a battery affidavit.

"Mr. Brinkman was then arrested at the scene," Parsley added.
