(UNDATED) - The Indiana Department of Transportation INDOT is announcing that State Road 54 is closing in eastern Greene and western Lawrence counties.
On Monday July 29 crews closes State Road 54 at 7 a.m.for construction of the new I-69 overpass. State Road 54 will be closed from State Road 45 near Little Cincinnati to the junction of State Road 58 in Springville; however local traffic and emergency vehicles will have access to the point of closure.
The point of closure is 3 miles south of State Road 45 where I-69 will span over existing State Road 54.
The roadway is scheduled to re-open to traffic in December, weather permitting.
The official detour will route traffic on State Road 45 and State Road 58.
INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a work zone.
