Drunk Driver Flees After Crashing In Salem

(SALEM) - A Salem man, who was drunk, crashed into another vehicle last weekend and then fled the scene.

31-year-old Kenny Trueblood was arrested a short time after the collision, but police had toTtaser him because he refused to cooperate with officers.

According to police, the crash happened at the corner of Hackberry and North Main streets. Police say a man driving a red Ford pickup fled the scene as they were arriving. The stopped him a short distance from the crash scene.

Police say Trueblood, an habitual traffic violator, was intoxicated according to the results of a blood alcohol text which came back at .22.

While waiting for the test results at St. Vincent Salem Hospital, Trueblood was restless and continued getting up and down out of his seat and pacing. After ignoring police warnings to sit down and cooperate, officers used a Taser on Trueblood.

Trueblood is charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a BAC of .15 or more, being a habitual traffic violator and resisting arrest.

According to the Leader Democrat, he remains incarcerated at the Washington County Detention Center on a $10,000 full cash only bond.
