Last updated on Monday, July 15, 2013

(BLOOMINGTON) - A Sunday night crash closed State Road 37 in Monroe County for more than 12 hours

A sheriff's deputy says a tractor-trailer and two other vehicles crashed around 9:30 p.m. Sunday on Ind. 37 near West Vernal Pike, and the semi overturned, spilling fuel.

Three people were injured in the crash and transported to the hospital, but no specific information about the nature of the injuries has been released.

Ind. 37 was shut down in both directions between State Road 46 and Third Street about 9:45 p.m. Sunday. The southbound lane was reopened shortly after 9 a.m. this morning, police said. Now both lanes are open.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management responded to the scene to clean up the spill.
