(BEDFORD) - Two people were arrested after a domestic fight ended with the couple ramming their vehicles into each others.
Police arrested 29-year-old Matthew Chastain on charges of criminal recklessness with a vehicle and possession of a legend drug.
His wife 35-year-old Angela Chastain,was charged with criminal recklessness with a vehicle and neglect of a dependent because the couple's 8-month-old child was in her vehicle during the incident.
The child was released to a family member and children's services was contacted.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig the incident started at a home at 22nd and M streets around 1:50 p.m. Saturday.
Then deputies witnessed the vehicles driving recklessly in the 1300 block of 22nd Street.
"They were traveling north on M Street and at one point were side by side," Craig says.
Officers stopped the vehicle and there was an accusation of possible drugs in one of the vehicles. At that point, Craig says a K-9 unit was called to the scene to check for possible drugs in the vehicle. The dog alerted officers to the legend drug.
