Brownstown Man Arrested After Failing To Stop For Police

(BROWNSTOWN) - A 48-year-old man faces criminal charges related to a brief pursuit early Thursday morning in Brownstown.

According to a press release from the Brownstown Police Department, Willis Sparks, who lives in Hillview Trailer Court in Brownstown, was arrested Thursday on charges of resisting law enforcement in a vehicle and operating while intoxicated.

Sparks was arrested after a brief pursuit that began when Brownstown Officer John Reichenbacker and Reserve Officer David Drake attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation.

Sparks at first refused to stop but later pulled into a lot at the mobile home park.

Sparks was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown, where he was being held without bond.

Brownstown Officer Steve Scarlett and Jackson County Officer Ben Rudolph assisted.
