(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested after police say he stole three semi-automatic handguns from Bloomington Home & Personal Security Store on South College Avenue.
Police arrested 21-year-old Conner David Alexander Lappin and charged him with four counts of felony theft.
According to Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Joe Crider, officers were called to the sotre on July 3 around 4 p.m. after the owner reported that Lappin, an employee who had access to the guns admitted to stealing them and giving them to four other people.
According to a confidential police informant the guns were given to two 18-year-olds males, a 19-year-old male and a 20-year-old male.
Crider says the guns match those taken from the store.
One of the guns, a Taurus 9-millimeter semi-automatic was recovered the three others a Beretta and Browning 9-millimeter handguns and a Glock 40-millimeter handgun were sold by the males.
Crider says the case is still under investigation and anyone with information or if they have the stolen guns are asked to call Detective Chris Scott at 812-349-3306.
