Washington Resident Paid With Counterfeit Money

(WASHINGTON) - A Washington resident was paid with counterfeit money.

The person told police they had sold some music equipment to a man after he answered his ad on Craig's List.

The two meet in the parking lot of WalMart where the man paid, $1,500 all in $100 bills. The man selling the equipment took the money into WalMart where a clerk checked to make sure it was not funny money and told the man it was okay.

The man then took the money to his bank where he was told the money was fake.

The money was turned over to police who are investigating the incident.
