School Administration Will Respond Aggressively And Swiftly After Teacher's Arrest

Last updated on Wednesday, June 12, 2013

(BEDFORD) - North Lawrence Community School Assistant Superintendent Gary Conner says officials will respond aggressively and swiftly to assure the safety of their students.

"It is sad when we have anyone involved in this type of activity," Conner says. "But as far as an educator involved...we expect our faculty to be roles model to our children."

Conner and other administrators are addressing the arrest of Parkview Primary first-grade teacher Lindsey K. Endis.

26-year-old Endis was arrested after a traffic stop between 37th and 39th streets Tuesday night.

She was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of heroin with the intent to deal, possession of meth, two counts of possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and trafficking with an inmate.

She was cited for crossing over the fog line and failure to signal a turn.

It was during that traffic stop that officers discovered the drugs.

"We want to assure the safety of our students at all times," Conner added. "I can assure you this will be dealt with swiftly. We are committed to the care of our students and expect our teachers to be good role models and care givers."

Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley was not available for comment about Endris' arrest, because he is attending a police training session.

Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig says there was in incident at the jail that led to the charge of trafficking with an inmate charge, but he could not comment on it because it is a Bedford case.

Endris was booked into the Lawrence County Security Center at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday. She remained in custody this morning. Her bond is set at $2,005 cash or $20,000 surety.
