(SALEM) - 29-year-old Nathan Schultz, of Salem, was sentenced after he pled guilty to burglary and theft.
He was sentenced to 10 years in prisons for the burglary and three years on the theft charge by Superior Court Judge Frank Newkirk.
Washington County Police Detective Brent Miller says Schultz was arrested after police found his DNA on a glove left at the scene.
Schultz pled guilty to entering the homes of Sid and Rita Baker and Linda Patrin and taking numerous items which included guns, a bond density scanner, golf clubs, NASCAR model cars, a television, family photos and other items.
Miller says Schultz was a suspect early on but denied his involvement, but thanks to DNA evidence police had a strong case.
Schultz has a lengthy criminal history including violent crime. He was arrested following a May 2004 kidnapping and armed robbery at the Salem Taco Bell.
