Salem Man Arrested After Resisting Police

Last updated on Monday, June 24, 2013

(SALEM) - A Salem man was tasered after police stopped him for drunk driving Sunday.

Jonathan Fraizer tested more than twice the legal limit.

The Leader Democrat reports, police say Fraizer was at his home on Saylor Road and left after a domestic fight.

He had four of his young children with him in his Ford Mustang.

Salem Police received a 911 call reporting an intoxicated driver with children in his vehicle at 6:19 a.m.

Officers went to Frazier's home and Frazier arrived a short time later. Frazier begged Salem Officer Chris Cauble to use the bathroom, but then Frazier refused to come back outside.

Cauble entered the home and attempted to bring Fraizer outside and that is when Fraizer grabbed the door frame and refused to cooperate with police.

The children became upset and were crying and Fraizer then began to fight with police.

To prevent the children from being injured Washington County Deputy Ryan Larrimore threatened to use a Taser on Fraizer if he didn't cooperate. Frazier ignored the warning and Larrimore tased Fraizer.

Frazier then calmed down and was allowed to talk to his children before being taken to jail.

He was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and resisting arrest. He did apologize to police officers as he was being transported to jail.
