Last updated on Tuesday, June 4, 2013

(UNDATED) - Lawrence County police are investigating several thefts that occurred over the weekend.

Early Monday morning officers received a call at 12:14 a.m. reporting someone had entered a home in the 500 block of Lafayette Avenue in Oolitic through a window and several items were missing.

"They removed the scene and entered through the window and took a television and DVD player," says Sheriff Sam Craig.

Then on Sunday at 11:43 p.m. officers received a report of a homeowner coming home to find their back door kicked in but nothing was taken from the home.

And at 10:09 p.m. a resident reported someone had entered their barn in the 1200 block of Noe Road and stolen several items.

"Some of those items included a large coil of wire, an old tool box for the back of a truck and aluminum brackets," Craig added. "They took items that could be scrapped."

Anyone with information about any of the thefts or break-ins is asked to call the Lawrence County Police Department.
