Last updated on Tuesday, June 11, 2013

(BLOOMINGTON) - A 19-year-old Bloomington man told police he had just got off the bus in the 2300 block of South Worthington Lane when he was jumped a by a 16-year-old boy that he knew and two other unknown men.

According to Bloomington Police Sgt. Joe Crider, the boy and men confronted him because he allegedly was saying bad things about his ex-girlfriend.

They then asked the man if he had any money and when he didn't give them any, they allegedly held him and searched his pockets, taking what money he did have and his cigarettes.

They also punched in the face several times breaking his glasses. A witness, who saw the fight, says the men then ran from the scene.

The man was taken to IU Bloomington Health Hospital where he was treated for abrasions and a possible concussion.

Crider says no one has been arrested in the assault, but the case is being investigated by detectives.
