Parkview Elementary Teacher Arrested On Heroin Charges

Last updated on Wednesday, June 12, 2013

(BEDFORD) - A Parkview Elementary School teacher was arrested Tuesday night after police found drugs in her vehicle.

Bedford Police officers arrested 26-year-old Lindsey K. Endis, 26, of 2261 Vinegar Hill Rd., on charges of possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of heroin with the intent to deal, possession of meth, two charges of possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and trafficking with an inmate.

Endis is a first grade school teacher at Parkview Primary.

Police stopped Endis for a traffic violation at 5:50 p.m. between 37th and 39th Street. She was cited for crossing over the fog line and failure to signal a turn.

It was during that traffic stop that officers discovered the drugs.

Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley was not available for comment today because he is attending a police training session.

Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig says there was an incident at the jail that led to the charge of trafficking with an inmate, but he could not comment on it because it is a Bedford case.

Administrators at North Lawrence Community Schools were aware of Endris' arrest, but Assistant Superintendent Gary Conner was looking into the arrest and says the school will respond appropriately

Endris was booked into the Lawrence County Security Center at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday. She remained in custody this morning. Her bond is set at $2,005 cash or $20,000 surety.
