(DAVIESS COUNTY) - The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department is attempting to return guns recovered in a theft investigation to their rightful owners.
Victims of gun thefts are asked to contact the department.
The department has run all serial numbers.
Those guns matched to serial numbers in theft reports have been tagged to be returned to their owners.
Those who were the victim of gun thefts, but did not have a serial number to give to authorities, can call the department with a detailed description of the weapon.
The description can include scratches, cracks and other unique attributes of the gun.
The department will not provide a list of what has been recovered.
