Last updated on Monday, June 3, 2013

(MITCHELL) - A motorcycle ride is planned to benefit Dumon McCain and his family. The event will include a ride, food and live music on June 8.

The event begins with registration at 9 a.m. at Growby's RTO in Mitchell.

The ride takes off at 10 a.m. and will wind its way through Lawrence County using a "poker run" format. The cost is $20 per bike.

The ride will return to the Mitchell American Legion by 1 p.m. The band, No Xpectations, will start playing at 2 p.m. Sarah Masterson will provide acoustic vocals throughout the afternoon, as well, leading up to the live auction by Troy Allen at 4 p.m.

The City Lights Band will then take the stage at 6 p.m.

Food is included for those who joined the ride. A cash bar is available.

Those who want to come, but not participate in the ride, can donate $5 to enjoy the food and entertainment.

T-shirts will be for sale the day of the event for $10, as will vinyl decals for $5.

Damon, of Bedford, is suffering through an inoperable brain stem tumor. For more information about the fundraiser or how to donate, call Sara Terry at 276-6235..
