(KOLEEN) - 33-year-old James Austin, of Bloomfield, died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen according to Forensic Pathologist Dr. Roland Kohr.

Kohr performed an autopsy Tuesday morning at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute.

Greene County Coroner Sherry Wilson says gunshot wound was a 'through and through', meaning it went through his abdomen and has ruled the death a homicide.

According to a press release issued by the Greene County Sheriff's Department Tuesday afternoon, 32-year-old Teena Foster, of Bloomfield, called 911 at 5:30 p.m. from the home she shared with Austin on Mineral/Koleen Road.

She told the dispatcher that she had shot Austin and needed an ambulance.

When officers arrived they fond Austin, who had been shot once in the stomach with a handgun by Foster.

Emergency personnel had passed away and contacted the coroner. Deputy Coroner Carol Williams responded.

Police then took Foster to the Greene County Jail for questioning at 6 p.m. she was not charged and released at 10 p.m.

The shooting is under investigation and when it is complete the information will be sent to the Greene County Prosecutor's Office for review.
