(LINTON) - The family of Katelyn Wolfe are now in need of help from the community to make sure she gets the proper burial.
Eric is currently laid off and Laura is a full-time student, and there was no life insurance policy for Katelyn.
"We hadn't even thought of life insurance, because things like this just aren't supposed to happen," Laura told the Greene County Daily World.
Katelyn went missing last week. Two acquaintances from Jasonville were charged with her murder Monday night after conservation officers discovered Katelyn's body in a body of water in the Greene-Sullivan State Forest near the border of Greene and Sullivan counties.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that everyone donate to a bank account for the funeral expenses.
Donations can be made at any Regions Bank location in the name of Katelyn Wolfe.
Family member Lesa Lewellyn will be coordinating efforts to host a fundraiser for the family to raise money for the funeral expenses.
They will be looking into hosting a benefit at Linton's Humphreys Park in the coming days, and request anyone willing to donate contact Lewellyn to coordinate donations.
While cash donations can be taken to the bank, the family is hoping for donations of items to be entered into a raffle to raise funds for the funeral.
Also, Eric's art work is on sale at the Francisco de Borja Coffee Shop, located at 20 S. Main St in Linton.
Lewellyn said more pieces of his art are being taken to the coffee shop Tuesday afternoon in hopes of raising funds for Katelyn's funeral.
If interested in donating to the family, contact Lewellyn at 798-1599.
