College Advice Offered At Bedford Public Library

(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Public Library will offer a new summer program for teenagers called Collegiate Thursdays.

People from ages 12-18 are welcome to visit the library to talk with college students, speak with representatives from universities and discuss scholarships and financial aid.

The program is free and includes food and prizes for attendees.

"Collegiate Thursdays will be a great opportunity to get a head start on college plans, even if you are just in middle school," said Amy Lauer, creator of Collegiate Thursdays and FAFSA counselor at the library.

Speakers for this program include Steve May, Amy Lauer from Learn More Indiana, Jesse McKee from Regions Bank and representatives from Indiana University, Ivy Tech Community College and Franklin College.

The program begins June 13 from 4-6 p.m. at the library, 1323 K St. More meetings will take place on June 27, July 11 and July 18 from 4-6 p.m.
