(NASHVILLE) - Major shifts in Brown County schools will mean bigger class sizes and longer bus rides for many students.
The changes come as part of a plan to put the district's finances back on track. The district voted to make Nashville Elementary an intermediate school and send those students to three other outlying schools.
From all of the changes, the district expects class sizes to jump from an 18 to one ratio to 25 to one. Also, some students can expect to add 10-15 minutes onto their bus route.
The school district is also allowing school choice to take place where enrollment allows and in situations where parents can transport their child to and from school.
