Bloomington Woman Hits Brother's Truck With Hammer

Last updated on Tuesday, June 11, 2013

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police were called to a birthday party Saturday night after a woman allegedly took a hammer and damaged her brother’s truck.

According to a Bloomington Police report, officers were called to a home in the 1600 block of North Willis Drive where a brother and sister got into an argument Saturday over an earlier phone call.

During the argument the brother allegedly hit his sister in the head, injuring her ear.

The brother then walked outside the mobile home to take a walk.

That is when the sister allegedly took a hammer, went outside and repeatedly hit her brother's truck.

Police were called but the woman did not want to file charges against her brother for hitting her. The brother was not at the trailer when police arrived.

Then later in the day, police were called back to the home, when the brother attempted to enter the trailer and his mother refused to let him in.

Officers arrived at the scene to find the brother, who is diabetic, not feeling well because of his condition.

The brother refused an offer from an officer to take him to the hospital, so an IU Health Bloomington ambulance was called to treat the man.

Police say neither, the sister or the brother filed charges against each other.
