Last updated on Sunday, June 16, 2013

(UNDATED) - Archery Camps USA is conducting its 5th annual youth camp at Camp Brosend in Warrick County.

The non-profit organization, which began in 2008, sponsors a youth camp each summer to promote all aspects of the archery discipline. The first year, 24 young archers attended the camp. This year, the camp has reached its maximum with 100 attendees. The camp began Monday and will continue through Saturday.

The organization has made its program known throughout by attending different sports shows in Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. Students participating come as far away as Arizona.

Activities at the camp include tree stand safety, all-terrain vehicle safety, camp challenges, 3D archery, traditional archery, crossbows, and three nights of bow fishing.

Other organizations assisting with the camp include the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Hoosier Outdoor Experience, Indiana Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division, the National Wild Turkey Federation, and the National Archery in the Schools Program.

Film crews from the tv shows AMS Bow Fishing, Iron Man Bow Fishing, Backwoods Bloodline, and Innerlock Out There TV are scheduled to appear.

Camp Brosend is located at 7599 Camp Brosend Road, which is off of State Road 261, north of Newburgh. For further information, contact ACUSA president Jason Greer at 812-305-2354 or Indiana Conservation Officer Eric Stamps at 812-202-1206.
