Last updated on Tuesday, May 14, 2013

(BEDFORD) - One person was injured after an accident in the parking lot of IU Health Bedford Hospital Monday morning.

According to a Bedford Police report, 18-year-old Jackie Sears was traveling south in the parking lot and was turning left into a parking spot when the accident happened. Sears told police she thought she had enough room to turn into the parking spot but hit a 1995 Oldsmobile, owned by 54-year-old Mary Lee, of 188 Old Turnpike Rd.

Sears' 2002 Oldsmobile Alero hit the driver's side rear bumper of Lee's vehicle.

Lee, who just left her doctor's appointment for an injured shoulder, was sitting in her car getting ready to leave when the accident happened.

Lee told police she was feeling pain in her shoulder and would make an appointment with her doctor to have the injury checked.

Sears was not injured.
