(ORLEANS) - Despite off and on rain showers and chilly temps the 45th annual Orleans Dogwood Festival went off without a hitch, but the damp weather scared away the normal parade-goers and some of the entries so the turnout was smaller than normal.
Taking first in the float division was the Lady Dawgs, fifth grade girls basketball team and second place went to Cub Scout pack 384.
In the antique car division first place went to William and Marie Marie Melody, and their 1930 Model A Ford sports coupe. Second place was awarded to Duke Energy, and their 1926 white 3 ½ ton staking truck.
In the tractor category Kasier Farm took first with a 1957 John Deere 620.
The Chairman's Choice was give to Heroes on the Water-Indiana Chapter and in the equestrian division first place was given to Bill Taylor and second to Cheyenne Kendall.
