(BEDFORD) - Longtime White River Humane Society shelter director Jamie Wires resigned from the job last week.
Wires worked at the shelter for nine years and rose from kennel tech, to assistant manager, to director.
Wires informed the board she had accepted a job at Pets Alive in Bloomington during the monthly board meeting.
With the shelter implementing new policy changes, Hendricks say the board plans to wait before making a decision to hire a new director.
