Last updated on Thursday, May 23, 2013

(WASHINGTON) - A Washington man was sentenced to 65 years in prison in the 2011 death of his 4-month old son.

Corey Lyons received his sentence from Daviess County Superior Court Judge Dean Sobecki.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Lyons became agitated by the baby's crying and slammed the child's head into the floor several times before calling 911.

He pleaded guilty to murder and his sentence was handed down Monday. He was given credit for time served and 10 years of his sentence was suspended.
