Spierers Will Not Attend IU Graduation Saturday

Last updated on Friday, May 3, 2013

(BLOOMINGTON) - The Class of 2013 will graduate from Indiana University this Saturday. Lauren Spierer would have been part of this graduating class.

Spierer has been missing for nearly two years.

The official Twitter account, @NewsOnLaurenS, which is dedicated to updates and news on the search for Spierer, announced Thursday that the Spierer Family will not be attending graduation ceremonies, but were heading to Bloomington.

An Indiana University official says President Michael McRobbie will say something short and prominent about Lauren during Saturday's graduation ceremonies.

Spierer was last seen in Bloomington on June 3, 2011 after a night out with friends.

Last weekend, volunteers posted new posters around Bloomington to remind her graduating class that she is still missing.

Bloomington firefighters also recently rebuilt 20 tattered and faded billboards that have been posted throughout the city for nearly two years asking for information in Spierer's disappearance.
