(SALEM) - A Paoli man is dead after being ejected from his motorcycle when a car struck his bike and then another motorcycle.

53-year-old Ricky Cole died from his injuries. Cole is the father of Paoli basketball coach Dusty Cole.

Cole and 55-year-old Terry Miller, of Glasgow, Ky., were traveling west on State Road 56 when the accident happened at 2:38 p.m. Sunday

According to Washington County Deputy Jimmy Strange, the two men had stopped to turn left onto State Road 39 when they were struck from behind by 24-year-old Ashley Ransom, of Salem.

Strange says Ransom was traveling west on Ind. State Road 56 and failed to stop her 1996 Subaru which collided with the motorcycles.

Miller was flown from the scene by helicopter to University of Louisville Hospital.

Strange says the crash is still under investigation.
