Mitchell Public Library Looking For Interns

Last updated on Thursday, May 2, 2013

(MITCHELL) - The Mitchell Community Public Library is circulating “Kill-A-Watt” voltage meters.

The device can be used to test how much electricity household appliances consume. People can use the meters to identify the "energy thieves" in their homes.

Free comic books

Saturday is National Free Comic Book day. Free issues will be available at the library that day, but supplies are limited.

Skype, Facebook

At 3 p.m. May 21, people can come to the library to learn about Skype, a free video chat service, and how it can help people to stay in touch with friends and relatives. Participants will create accounts and practice video chatting.

And at 3 p.m. May 23, the library will host a session on the basics of Facebook. Participants will create accounts and learn about privacy settings. Registration is required.

Paid internship

The library is accepting applications for a paid summer teen internship. This position is for the summer only and is open to those between the ages of 16 and 19 who are current residents of the Mitchell library district (Marion, Bono, and Spice Valley South townships).

The intern will support the summer reading program through clerical work and leading a weekly program. To apply, fill out an application at the adult services desk by Saturday.
The position is funded by Capstone Ministries.
