Man Arrested After 911 Calls Reporting Reckless Driving

(BEDFORD) - Bedford Police arrested a man after receiving numerous 911 calls Wednesday night reporting his reckless driving.

According to the Bedford Police log, the department began receiving calls at 9:36 p.m. reporting a red Jeep Cherokee had nearly caused a crash and was running red lights at Ind. 37 and Fifth Street.

Police stopped the Jeep, driven by 21-year-old Blake Lanning, of Batesville. He was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment, operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 1.5 percent and open container.

His passenger, whose name was not listed, had to call someone for a ride.
