Linton Woman Arrested For A Third Time For OWI

Last updated on Monday, May 13, 2013

(BLOOMFIELD) - A Linton woman was in court last week facing charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. It was the third time she’s been charged with that offense.

Anna Rochelle of the Greene County Daily World reports that 31-year-old Dawn Dove, was arrested on May 2 by Indiana State Police Trooper Richard Klun. Dove was driving a maroon 2005 Ford Taurus when she was involved in an accident at North West 7th and E streets in Linton at approximately 6:21 p.m. Witnesses to the crash said Dove was behind the wheel when it happened.

Trooper Klun reported Dove's speech was slurred, her eyes were glassy, her balance was poor, she was staggering when she got out of the car and she failed to shut off the engine.

In addition, the officer reported she was verbally and physically abusive towards officers and the emergency medical personnel who responded to help.

According to the police report, she failed standard field sobriety testing and refused a chemical test but a blood sample was taken at Greene County General Hospital at 8:36 p.m.

Dove was booked in to the county jail where her bond was set at $850 surety with ten percent allowed. She has since been released after posting $850 cash.

When she appeared in Greene Superior Court Tuesday for an initial hearing, she was charged with both felony and misdemeanor counts involving owi, plus disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor.

The judge entered an order recommending that the Bureau of Motor Vehicles suspend her driving privileges.
Dove's criminal record includes a conviction for owi in Sullivan County in 2008 and another conviction for owi in Vigo County in 2012.
