(BEDFORD) - Bedford North Lawrence Lady Stars Coach Kurt Godlevske is leaving to try his hand as assistant women's basketball coach at Butler University.

Godlevske led the Bedford North Lawrence Lady Stars to the 2012-13 Class 4A girls basketball state championship and posted a 120-41 (.745) record in seven seasons at BNL.

Godlevske, who is also principal at Dollens Elementary School, was to meet with his players this afternoon to inform them of his decision.

Godlevske says he loves his team, but the opportunity was simply good to pass up. His only job at Butler will be coaching and that he says is his passion.

Godlevske has gotten a lot of attention after winning the state title and says he has turned down several coaching positions.

Now it is time to practice what he preached to his players -set goals and attempt to achieve them. At Butler he will see if he can achieve one of his goals - a NCAA championship.
