Crohn's & Colitis Foundation Host Education Program

(BLOOMINGTON) -- The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America invites patients, families, and caregivers
living with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis to the educational program Nutrition & IBD: Choices for
Adults and Kids.

Consisting of a live and interactive presentation by Amar Pinto, MD, as well as a question-
and-answer session, the program will be held at the Bloomington Hilton Garden Inn on Tuesday, May 14,
2013 at 6 pm. This is a free program but registration is required. Register today at

Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are chronic digestive disorders of the intestines. These illnesses
are collectively known as inflammatory bowel diseases, or IBD, because many of their symptoms
and complications are similar. It is estimated that some 1.4 million Americans suffer from IBD, with
approximately 30,000 new cases diagnosed each year.

Topics of discussion will include:

• Role of nutrition - adult and pediatric focus

• Overview of diets used by IBD patients

• Eating well with IBD - diet, nutrition, supplements

• Tools and nutritional resources

• Question-and-answer session with medical experts
